DFS Furniture has welcomed Currys CFO Bruce Marsh as its new independent non-executive director, effective from 1 August.
Alongside serving in the role, the retail veteran will be appointed as a member of the furniture retailer’s audit committee, remuneration committee and nomination committee.
Prior to working for Currys, Marsh held senior positions at Tesco, Kingfisher and Dixons Retail.
The director is known for his successful delivery of large complex business transformations amid rapidly changing environments.
Marsh is set to replace the sofa chain’s current independent non-executive director, Loraine Martins, who is stepping down from her role from 31 July.
DFS chairman Steve Johnson said: “I am delighted that Bruce is joining the board. His significant retail experience as the CFO of Curry’s PLC is directly relevant to the DFS’s strategy.
“His extensive experience leading finance teams, maintaining robust financial controls and improving planning and performance, for “big ticket item” retailers will bring valuable experience and insight to the board.”
