Debenhams head of creative Patrick Duggan has been promoted to the role of creative director after four years at Boohoo Group.
Duggan first joined Boohoo Group, which snapped up Debenhams back in 2021, in July 2020 as creative manager at Karen Millen. He joined Debenhams as senior head of creative in January 2023.
Before his arrival at the online fashion giant, he spent several months as creative consultant at Wax London and had previously acted as group senior creative manager at New Look from 2018 to 2020.
Duggan shared the news on LinkedIn and said: “Really pleased to share that I have been promoted to the role of creative director at Debenhams.
“I’ve had the privilege of being part of the Debenhams journey within the Boohoo Group from pretty much day one and am incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over these few short years. I get to work with incredible, passionate and talented people every day and have a good laugh along the way.”
At the beginning of this month, Debenhams bounced back in the black thanks to strong sales and growth in its marketplace model.
The online department store reported a pre-tax profit of £3.27m in the year to 29 February, up from the £721,000 loss the previous year.
Following the positive results, CEO Dan Finley said: I believe Debenhams alone, with the progress we’ve made and the opportunities that lie ahead, has a greater value than the entire market cap of our group today (£500m+)”.
