Burberry appoints ex-Topshop CEO as new product boss

Burberry has named former Topshop Topman CEO Paul Price as chief product merchandising and planning officer.

The retail veteran is making a return to the luxury British business after previously working as its chief merchandising officer for ten years from 2007.

After leaving in 2017, Price became chief executive of Topshop and Topman and subsequently took up the role of chief executive of James Perse in Los Angeles. He then ran his own consulting firm from 2021.

Set take up his new role on 9 December, Price will join the retailer’s executive committee and report to directly to chief executive Joshua Schulman, who joined the business earlier this year.

Schulman said: “As a key member of the Burberry leadership team during the company’s peak era of value creation, Paul was responsible for product strategies that led to consistent double-digit growth.”

Price’s new responsibilities will include leading the retailer’s merchandising and planning teams, as well as those in licensing, architecture and the showroom.
